The NUS Economics Society Research Cell is of the university's most exclusive intellectual enclave. Positioned at the intersection of rigorous academic inquiry and high-stakes macroeconomic analysis, the Cell serves as the premier incubator for the next generation of global economic architects. Admission to the Cell is highly restricted, with a 14% acceptance rate for the 2025/2026 academic year (12 members selected from 86 applicants), ensuring only the university's most formidable analytical minds are inducted into our ranks.

Market Matters (MM)
Modeled after institutional market reports, MM provides quarterly deep dives into international markets. Our associates provide the same level of granular insight expected at top-tier macroeconomic reports.

Our reach is genuinely global. Through research partnerships with Sciences Po, Imperial College London, and the University of Sydney, our members co-author high-impact essays alongside like-minded peers from leading institutions worldwide. This international network is further strengthened by exclusive, closed-door fireside chats with industry leaders and distinguished academics — including a macroeconomics webinar cohosted with the NUS Investment Society and the Imperial College Economics and Investment Society, which brought together six prominent figures from across the field.
